The compact crossover FAW X40 received 5 safety stars based on the results of crash tests C-NCAP. C-NCAP is a Chinese car safety assessment program. The C-NCAP crash test system generally follows the safety standards set by Euro NCAP. Testing conducted by the China Center for Automotive Technology and Research.

Also, recall that the FAW X40 passed a unique crash test for dropping from a helicopter and received excellent results at all points of the test and proved the title of “Safe Car”. The crossover was the first automobile brand in China to set a record for this safety indicator.

When designing a car, the company’s engineers applied the best practices of the leaders of the global automotive industry. The car has a number of active, passive safety systems and a reinforced body.

A high level of safety for FAW vehicles is achieved through 3H bodies that use ultra-high strength steel. The multi-channel energy transfer design instantly distributes the enormous kinetic energy from the impact throughout the body, which avoids local deformation and thereby ensures the safety of passengers.

The body structure is aimed at minimizing the effects of front, rear, side collision or tipping. To achieve this result, a number of engineering solutions have been applied:

– increased the share of use of high-strength steel;

– reinforced front part, roof, columns and floor with the help of additional high-strength parts;

– in all parts of the body there are deformation zones that absorb impact energy (reinforced beams of the front and rear bumpers, as well as all passenger doors; reinforced threshold plates, etc.);

– The design of the engine hood is applied, which bends and prevents the hood from being pressed into the passenger compartment in a frontal collision;

– laser welding technologies are used.

The FAW X40 has an independent suspension with McPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam with a semi-independent rear suspension at the rear. This increases the stability of the car and allows you to get a smooth ride and stable handling. Also, the car is equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels and an electric power steering.

In addition, the crossover is equipped with a number of options and safety systems: ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and TPMS (direct tire pressure monitoring system), electronic power steering, two front airbags, three-point seat belts with pretensioners and height adjusters. There is a warning function about not fastened seat belts of the driver and passenger. The reversing assistance system includes parking sensors with 4 sensors.

The car is equipped with an economical and reliable 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a mechanical transmission and an engine idle start and stop system. Engine power 109 hp at 5500 rpm / min., maximum torque of 155 Nm at 3600 rpm.

The reliability of the car is confirmed by a factory warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km. mileage (whichever comes first). Another confirmation of the high level of quality of this model is the fact that the car is developed on the basis of the Volkswagen Group platform, with which FAW has been actively cooperating for several decades.

Sales of the FAW X40 in Ukraine started in January this year in the AIS sales and service network. A car can be purchased on credit, leasing and Trade-In. * Free assistance service is available to owners of the new FAW X40.

Recall that in the AIS retail and service network, the family compact compact sedan is also available for purchase – the FAW B30, which also received 5 safety stars based on the results of C-NCAP crash tests.
