We already saw the T-Roc R at the beginning of last year and the Touareg R last month. Even the VW ID electric series will get the R version, which will be the road equivalent of the very successful ID.R electric car. The legendary Golf R is about to debut, which the company has high hopes for, although it does not count on huge sales. But with all of the above, we still had one question, the answer to which was given by the head of Volkswagen’s R division, Josta Capito.
Back in 2014, Volkswagen announced that it would not work on the small and evil Polo R. It was from that moment that a number of rumors began to spread about this car. Later, rumors were reinforced by the fact that in 2017 in the company’s report appeared a little about a 300 strong kid. However, Josta Capito clearly and unequivocally made it clear that the Golf R will be the smallest car in the Volkswagen hotline.
“We can’t produce Polo R even if our customers are interested. Demand in any case will be low, and the development costs of this machine are huge, ”says Yosta.
