The fact that old cars in good condition cost a lot of money is no longer news. However, it happens that the price tag of some copies significantly jumps over the cost of most new cars produced in 2020. This situation has developed with this BMW in the back of the e39.
The BMW 5-series in the “thirty-ninth” body simply tore the market at the time. Her version of the M5 with the S62 engine, many admirers of the brand to this day consider it the most beautiful and successful model of all time. Its 4.9-liter naturally aspirated V8 produced 400 hp. and 500 Nm of torque, which even today, after 20 years, is a pretty good indicator.
Getting closer to the point, today we will focus on a specific car, which was released back in 2001. This is the BMW M5 e39 and its mileage is only 16,700 kilometers. The machine is equipped with a 6-speed manual, and also carries with it all the charms of the technical equipment of the 1990s – 2000s.
The car’s body is covered in the chic Carbon Black Metallic, which is more reminiscent of dark blue than black. The front is equipped with daytime running lights, halogen fog lights. Here you can also find keyhole heating, an electric sunroof, rain sensors and xenon headlights with automatic corrector.
In the cabin you will find the memory of the driver’s seat, height adjustment of the seat belt, steering wheel and exterior mirrors, a stereo system with 10 speakers with a 6-disc CD changer, climate control, cruise control, heated front seats, two-tone black and blue leather upholstery, satellite navigation and more. Specifically, this M5 is also equipped with 18-inch M Satin Chrome multi-spoke wheels, with ventilated disc brakes in a circle. In addition, this BMW is equipped with all kinds of stability control systems and anti-rolls already in the base.
And now to the most interesting. The price tag of this “museum exhibit” exceeds the mark of 60,000 US dollars. And what kind of money can you buy from the new BMW, you ask. How about the new 3-series G20 in the M-Perfomance package, for which you will have to pay only a couple thousand dollars. Or, for example, the brand new BMW X5. Everything would be fine, but for the money you can freely buy yourself two BMW M5 e60 or even BMW M5 F10 in pretty good condition. But the above facts simply are not able to somehow influence the connoisseur of e39 or the crazy collector who is ready to dump any money, then to brag about such a baby to everyone.
